Chimera
Chimera is a photographic series rooted in everyday life, yet marked by a subtle displacement of reality. The images do not rely on staging or fiction; they emerge from ordinary moments, familiar places, and seemingly trivial situations. And yet, something shifts. A shape, a light, an infinitesimal coincidence is enough to tip reality into another reading, as if a hidden layer of the world were suddenly rising to the surface.
These photographs capture moments where reality seems to surpass fiction, without artifice or prior construction. The everyday appears as an inexhaustible field of observation, crossed by discreet signs and unexpected correspondences. They seize these moments of transition, when recognition gives way to perception, revealing forms that are subtle and fleeting.
The title Chimera evokes an imaginary and fantastic figure, but also a sense of escape. The images function as passages, opening a space where reality and imagination coexist, without hierarchy or rupture. What takes place there lies in a slight shift, a suspension of meaning, a temporarily displaced perception.
Through this series, another way of inhabiting reality is suggested, embracing its uncertainty and the element of mystery it contains. Chimera reveals moments in which the everyday seems to transform, exposing layers that would otherwise remain unseen.
