Time Goes Gy

This series shows moments of latency that are part of everyday life, here in different places in China. Scrolling through the cell phone, dozing off - in a loop - in these moments where there is nothing to do. Between boredom and complacency, each of these photos tells a different story about waiting. The ease with which these workers and people are inactive, shows another face of a China said to be "in motion". Time is getting longer and seems endless, at the antipodes of the West, where productivity rhymes with speed and efficiency. In this struggle with Morpheus, the latter ends up winning. "The Chinese have a theory that boredom is the path to fascination" Diane Arbus quoted by Susan Sontag in "On Photography", 1977.
